Protect Our Parklands Grassroots Movement (PPGM) is a peaceful community movement formed by everyday South Australians to help protect Adelaide's heritage-listed Park Lands for future generations.
We support constructive, community-led action focused on transparency, accountability and the long-term protection of these shared public spaces.
As pressure from ongoing commercial development, tree removal and the privatisation of public land continues, we are helping mobilise community awareness, engagement and coordinated grassroots action for an amplified community voice to help ensure Adelaide's Park Lands remain public, protected and accessible for generations to come.

9,000+ South Australians of any age have already signed. Help us reach 10,000 by adding your signature today.
Want to help collect signatures? Download a petition, collect handwritten signatures, and return completed sheets to Adelaide Town Hall by 31 July 2026.

THE ISSUE
Why This Matters
John E Brown Park 27A, proposed for redevelopment into a commercial driving range with a car park, high safety netting and associated amenities. Public open space deserves careful consideration before being converted to commercial use.
Every generation inherits Adelaide's Park Lands and holds them in trust for the next. They are the lungs of the city.
We are not anti-progress. We believe real progress comes from working with the community through transparency, meaningful consultation and collaboration.
Today, Adelaide's Park Lands face major change through the $45 million North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment, the proposed commercial driving range at John E Brown Park, and the proposed $100 million MotoGP circuit.
The impacts extend far beyond these individual projects:
Loss of mature tree canopy
Destruction of wildlife habitat
Reduced biodiversity
Less natural cooling during heatwaves
Ongoing loss of public green space
This is about more than trees. It's about protecting our Park Lands and strengthening the democratic processes that shape our shared public spaces.
Democracy doesn't end at the ballot box.
The decisions we make today will shape the city future generations inherit.

ACAW EVENT | HANDS AROUND THE HISTORIC OLIVE GROVE
Join us for a free, family-friendly community event as part of Adelaide Climate Action Week as we celebrate the historic Olive Grove in Park 16.
Enjoy a day of storytelling, live music, nature play, craft, creative activities, guided conversations and community connection.
Bring a picnic, enjoy a sweet treat from our cake stall, or bring along your homegrown produce to swap with others beneath the mature trees that cool our city, support biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience and connect us to our shared history.
Together, we’ll celebrate this remarkable place while raising awareness of the proposed removal of the historic Olive Grove for planned MotoGP infrastructure, affirming that Adelaide’s Park Lands are worth protecting for generations to come.
