ADELAIDE · SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Community-led action for transparency, accountability and the future of our city.
Protect Our Parklands is a peaceful grassroots community movement working alongside the Adelaide Park Lands Association (APA or APLA) and broader community advocates to help protect Adelaide’s heritage-listed Park Lands for future generations.
We support constructive, community-led action focused on transparency, accountability and the long-term protection of these shared public spaces.
As pressure from large-scale development, tree removal and privatisation continues to grow, we are helping mobilise community awareness, civic engagement and coordinated grassroots action so the community retains a voice in the future of our city.

OUR MISSION

We believe South Australians deserve a genuine say in major decisions that have lasting impacts on our environment, heritage, and the future of our city.

Protection of Shared Public & Heritage Spaces

THE ISSUE
Every generation inherits the Adelaide Park Lands and holds them in trust for the next.
Today, hundreds of mature trees and important wildlife habitat face destruction for redevelopment projects that will permanently change part of this unique public landscape.
The impacts extend far beyond a golf course, driving range or a race track:
Loss of mature tree canopy
Destruction of wildlife habitat
Reduced biodiversity
Less natural cooling during heat waves
Ongoing erosion of public green space
This is a defining moment for Adelaide's Park Lands. The decisions made today will shape the city our children inherit tomorrow.
